New Farm Stand Location

west-bridgewater-maWe are pleased to announce that Billingsgate Farm now has a new, second location! We are the proud new owners of the 74-acre C&C Reading Farm, LLC, formerly known as the Hayward Dairy Farm, located in West Bridgewater on East Center Street.

This new acquisition provides our customers with two convenient Farm Stand locations, one in Plympton and one at our new West Bridgewater location. The original Billingsgate Farm location will continue to be our home base with business as usual. We plan to raise both organic and conventional produce at the new Reading Farm location with crops for local consumers including pumpkins, squashes, tomatoes, apples, strawberries, and more. Hours at the new Farm Stand will be the same as at the Billingsgate Farm location – Monday through Friday 10AM to 6:30PM and Saturday and Sunday 9AM through 6:30PM May through October.

Our first reaction when the closing was complete was that we were thrilled! We went right over to our new property, said a short prayer, and kissed the soil. This is a dream come true for us! Never in a million years did we think we would ever own our “own farm.” We have worked all our lives to achieve our dream. Hard work pays off and dreams do come true. We are blessed and appreciative to MANY people who helped make this dream a reality.

This opportunity was made possible in part by The Trust for Public Land, the Massachusetts Agricultural Preservation Program, and the federal Farm and Ranchland Protection Program who worked toward a guarantee that the land will only ever be used for farming. We are deeply grateful to know that “our farm” will ALWAYS be a farm, that we are helping preserve Massachusetts’ farm lands, and we are honored to keep the tradition alive for the former Hayward Dairy Farm. We know they would be happy.
